We shipped 13 horses, 26 trunks, 32 buckets and much misc equipment out to Lexington Kentucky in two semi trucks. Some of the team horses left Tuesday evening, the rest left Wed evening. All horses were unloaded at the Kentucky Horse park Sat am, in great condition! The girls all arrived over various stages of the weekend, and by Sunday afternoon all were unpacked, moved in and ready to ride! Monday brought schooling in the morning, rally stalls to move into, lots of cleaning and my arrival. My mother also traveled with me, as she is helping me coach the girls we brought.
Tuesday was a bustle of activity- more schooling, jogs, official move in to the rally, the rally started, jogs for all disciplines and cross country opened. The venue is amazing, there are over 1100 competitors across the disciplines. The trade fair encompasses the entire ring of the Alltech arena, 24 barns are filled with pony club horses and almost all the regions are represented.
The Northwest region sent 24 competitors across Quiz, Quadrille, dressage, show jumping, tetrathalon, and eventing, including 4 stable managers. All horses jogged today, and although Player was a little fresh and Olly was held temporarily, all NW horses passed the jog and are ready to compete in there respective discplines starting Wed.
We are ready to show the whole country what the Northwest is made of!! We are so excited to be here, and the girls are soaking up everything they can. The venue is amazing, the history of Kentucky is amazing and the competition is here! We have spent the last 9 months preparing and fundraising for this week!!
Hope to get some pictures uploaded tomorrow.
