With the addition of Intro to USEA recognized events we anticipated and have seen a growth in our young riders program. We know it is key to train young riders from the beginning in the ways of horsemanship, correct competition framework and rider/horse success. With an ethos that is practiced daily, where you find older riders at the International or Novice division giving riding tips to the newest Intro division rider in the arena or the wash bay. The key values of the Eventing world: horse first, completeness and versatility, horsemanship, integrity and fair play, courage and trust, education and inclusivity and fairness are displayed daily at Grand Farms.
In this role at Grand Farms you will have the opportunity to support and help build the next competitive team of young riders in Area VII. While working with one of the greatest engineers of young talent in all of Area VII Anni Grandia. Anni is a phenomena, she embodies that rarest of riders with a natural talent and a divine understanding of horse and rider. A fierce competitor herself, she understands what is the most important in building out a young competitor; from the right mindset to the correct rider/horse relationship to building that great relationship of courage and trust in competition. Her pedagogical and methodological frameworks have stood as the standard for young riders in Area VII for over 25 years. Currently Team Chaos has over 20+ riders ranging from Intro to 2 star.

JR Team Eventing Trainer
Location: Grand Farms, Vaughn, Washington
Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Salary position: DOE
Grand Farms is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and passionate Eventing Trainer to join our team in Vaughn, Washington. While the position includes developing horses for eventing competition, it is primarily a teaching role focused on building strong foundations for riders of all ages and experience levels. The ideal candidate enjoys introducing beginning children and adults to horsemanship and riding, helping students progress from their first lessons through advanced eventing goals. This role requires excellent horsemanship, coaching skills, and a commitment to horse welfare, rider development, and fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach beginners through advanced riders, including children and adults with little or no prior riding experience.
Develop riders’ foundational skills in horsemanship, horse care, safety, and riding fundamentals.
Create a welcoming, supportive, and educational atmosphere for students and families.
Assist with general barn and facility operations as needed. While this is not primarily a stall-cleaning position, all team members are expected to contribute to the daily work required to keep the farm running smoothly, including occasional physical labor and barn-related tasks
Provide coaching and instruction to riders of varying skill levels.
Develop individualized training programs for horses and riders.
Prepare horses and riders for clinics, competitions, and events.
Maintain training records and progress reports.
Ensure safe riding and stable management practices.
Requirements:
Proven experience in eventing training and competition.
Strong knowledge of dressage, show jumping, and cross-country disciplines.
Excellent communication and coaching abilities.
Ability to manage multiple horses and riders effectively.
Relevant equestrian qualifications or certifications preferred.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
