Galway was a very successful start to the season, with every horse and rider finishing on their dressage score, in the ribbons. Chaos was 13th in the CIC*, Samurai finished 5th in his first Novice, Cadence Michel was 2nd on both her boys (T and P) and Chantale Vachon was 6th and 8th on her two boys. A very successful weekend to start the trip!
Twin Rivers brought 5 move ups (not sure what I was thinking!) but still a great weekend! Chaos and I were 7th in our first OI, Cadence finished her first CCI* with a qualifier and a sound horse, Levi and Cadence finished there first prelim together, Chantale and Jet had a great first Training qualifier to start there trek to the Rebecca Farm Training 3-day. Sam had another great go at Novice, though a stop at the ditch kept him out of the ribbons.
We cam home with 7 sound, happy horse, lots of education and are looking forward to a great season here at home. Chaos is aiming at the CIC** at Rebecca and the CCI** at Galway in the fall. In the meantime- time to finish up my ICP, get these Pony Club kids to festival, train the young horses and spend the summer with my clients competing locally! But all along the way, we must remember why we are attracted to such a crazy world- for me it is the love of horses and teaching people to love not only the horses but the process and the sport as a whole, and the constant striving for perfection. We must strive every day to be as good as we can be, and the only way to accomplish that is not only practice, but practice perfection. Day in and day out, not leaving out details. There will never be another yesterday, only a tomorrow. Make the most of every day, so you never question what you should have done yesterday,
